The Storm Water Specialist Program seeks an enthusiastic and curious professional to fill the full-time position of Education Manager. This position has the leadership responsibility for the development, implementation and oversight of the adult education programs in green storm water management hosted at St. Suzanne Cody Rouge Community Resource Center, a vibrant neighborhood based community and education hub in northwest Detroit. The Education Manager will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of this innovative outdoor education program which seeks adults in neighboring communities to join recurring Storm Water Specialist training programs along with their initial work placements, and identifying and recruiting GSI practices such as rain gardens, retention ponds and water structures at local nonprofits and other agencies seeking maintenance workers in a social enterprise model. The position requires great flair and instinct in building and sustaining relationships with diverse partner organizations, interest and inquisitiveness in on-the-ground environmental justice solutions and resiliency, and a spirit and calling to create and maintain an empowering culture. The position includes outreach, scheduling, maintaining logs and attendance, event management, coordination of multiple site activities, staff and intern supervision, training for staff and volunteers, observation and program evaluation to ensure program fidelity. The ideal candidate will be highly flexible and adaptive, innovative and risk taking, self-starting, and highly adept at communications, problem solving and resolving conflict leading to restorative relationships. This position has grant funding for a 24 month period. Position available immediately. The position will be based at St. Suzanne Cody Rouge Community Resource Center but will require site visits at various GSI practice sites in Detroit.

The full-time Administrative Professional will be solution-oriented comfortable and positive in evolving worksite scenarios, relentless in thorough and accurate reporting, database management, scheduling, written and oral communications, customer and constituent focused in supporting the Education Manager of this innovative outdoor education program which seeks adults in neighboring communities to join recurring Storm Water Specialist training programs along with their initial work placements, and identifying and recruiting GSI practices such as rain gardens, retention ponds and water structures at local nonprofits and other agencies seeking maintenance workers in a social enterprise model. The ideal Administrative Professional will arrive and remain relentless positive in responding to needs and circumstances of all those involved in the program at all times. This position has grant funding for a 24 month period. Position available immediately.
